One Thursday didn't really start with plans to form a band. It grew out of a group of friends getting together in a basement on Thursday nights, plugging in some guitars, turning up songs we liked, and playing along. It was mostly an excuse to make some noise and blow off steam at the end of the week. One Thursday night, Chris's wife Stephanie joined us downstairs and we convinced her to grab a microphone. What started with one song quickly became a regular thing, and just like that, we had found our singer. As the basement evolved into a full-fledged studio, Chris took the opportunity to return to drums, leaving an opening on bass. Josh called his longtime friend Matt to fill that role, and what started as a casual Thursday-night jam eventually settled into the four-piece band it is today: Stephanie on lead vocals, Chris on drums and vocals, Matt on bass and backing vocals, and Josh on guitar and backing vocals. The name came pretty naturally. After trying a few others, including Jester's Calling, we kept coming back to the simplest description of what the band had always been: a group of friends getting together to play music one Thursday at a time. Based in Central Alabama, we play a high-energy mix of rock, punk, pop-punk, alternative rock, and the occasional heavier track. Green Day, Sum 41, Blink182, and System of a Down, to name a few, are right at home in our set, along with plenty of the music that defined the mid-to-late '90s and early 2000s. We're serious about putting on a good show, but the reason we started doing this hasn't really changed. It's still four friends getting together every Thursday to make some noise and forget about everything else for a while. We want to play the songs that make someone in the crowd suddenly remember being sixteen, when the music was loud, responsibilities were somebody else's problem, and growing up still seemed a long way off.
